The women’s political participation and leadership (WPPL) assessment in Tanzania uses the latest iteration of USAID’s WPPL Assessment Framework. The Tanzania WPPL assessment investigates the barriers and opportunities to expand women’s participation and leadership in Tanzania. The research included a desk review of relevant literature and documents, a survey completed by 119 politicians, 20 key informant interviews, and eight focus group discussions with politicians, civil society, and media in Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar.
